Film Launches Viral Marketing Campaign With “Flying People in New York City”

Promoters of the upcoming film ‘Chronicle’ took to the skies for a unique and daring marketing ploy involving a trio of human-shaped flying RC planes.

Flown over New York City on Monday, the devices included remote controlled planes with a human silhouette. The idea was to mimic the three central characters of the film, who among other special abilities, can fly.

The devices were flown around various New York City landmarks, including the Brooklyn Bridge and near the Statue of Liberty.

The video of the event is now posted on YouTube, under the title “Flying People in New York City”.

‘Chronicle’ will be released in theaters on February 3, 2012
