Foursquare Breaks Record for Gym Check-ins



According to Foursquare co-founder Naveen Selvadurai, Foursquare had its highest gym check-ins on January 3rd.

Foursquare continues to encourage working out on its platform by allowing those who check in to their gym 10 times in 30 days to unlock the “Rat Badge”.

Other online apps that will help you keep those 2012 weight loss resolutions?

- Cyclemeter/Runmeter: Download the app for $4.99. Track your route, speed and elevation when you walk, run or bike. Plus record your routes to track impovement and post results via Facebook and Twitter.

- Fooducate: This free app allows you to use your iPhone camera to scan the barcodes of any food you’re buying. Fooducate then gives you the amount of calories and a grade based on how healthy it is.

- Lose It!: According to their site, the average Lose It! user loses 12.3 lbs. Set goals and establish a daily calorie diet, and stay on track by recording daily intake and exercise. Their Twitter account also helps push people to their goals by giving them an online shout out.

-Fitbit: Log your food and activities on the go and track your progress along the way. Plus use it with the Fitbit Tracker to measure steps your take and calories you burn throughout the day.
