ESPN Launches #ESPNAlly Program In Support Of LGBTQ Community

ESPN has launched a program to support the LGBTQ community within its own company called ESPN Ally, and encouraged the use of the hashtag #ESPNAlly for others to show their support on Thursday. The program was created by ESPN’s EQUAL, which is a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employee resource group, and it’s purpose is to nurture a workplace were members of the LGBTQ community can feel accepted and included. The company created a video featuring employees from all sections of ESNP who are members of the LGBTQ community or are allies. An “ally” refers to a straight person who supports a gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender individual.
