MLS adds Twitter voting for All-Star game

MLS All-Star Game trailer

Fans will be able to vote via Twitter from a pool of players to select the starting 11 for 2012 MLS All-Star roster, which will feature MLS All-Stars against English Premier giants Chelsea on July 25th at PPL Park in Philadelphia. The All-Stars will look to avenge last year’s 1-0 loss to Chelsae.

For a vote to count, a fan must be following the MLS’s official Twitter handle @MLS and then submit a tweet featuring the hashtag #MLSAllStar and the player’s first and last name. While users can vote multiple times they cannot do so in a single tweet, and there’s no limit to the number of tweets a fan can send for a player.

The pool of players includes 114 players, whom were chosen from a panel of media members, according to MLS.com.

MLS has set up a page listing all the eligible players, and fans need only to click on the Tweet button next to the name of the player to set up a tweet with all the necessary info to cast a vote.

Voting ends on Friday at 11:59 p.m., EST.
