Philip Seymour Hoffman in Cryptic ‘The Master’ Trailer (VIDEO)

Written, directed, and co-produced by Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights, There Will Be Blood), The Master’s trailers tease a plot involving an intellectual (Philip Seymour Hoffman) who creates his own post-WWII religious organization called “The Cause.”

Joaquin Phoenix co-stars as the convert sidekick who begins to question the faith and the stability of his leader. The film also stars Laura Dern and Amy Adams.

The teaser trailers for The Master – which hits theaters October 12, 2012 — have already been praised for their cinematic skill and enigmatic qualities.
