“Assassin’s Creed” Movie To Star Michael Fassbender (VIDEO)
The announcement that “X-Men: First Class” star Michael Fassbender is slated to star in a movie adaptation of the popular video game franchise “Assassin’s Creed” had the Twitterverse buzzing with excitement. As AMC Theaters reports, the film is aiming for a 2014 release, so there’s quite a wait in store for fans of the game. The news comes three months before the scheduled release of the video game’s fifth installment, “Assassin’s Creed III” which will be released in October. According to AMC, the film will be co-produced by DMC Films, which is Fassbender’s production company.
The star of the critically acclaimed and controversial film “Shame,” Fassbender brings an immediate attention-grabbing name to a movie genre that generally fairs poorly, both in box office numbers and in critical praise. Can he help change all that? Tweeps at least seem optimistic.
Here’s what some people had to to say via Twitter.
