Arnold Schwarzenegger and Forest Whitaker in ‘The Last Stand’ Trailer (VIDEO)

Action film star Arnold Schwarzenegger makes his next big screen appearance in The Last Stand.

Kim Ji-Woon’s U.S. directorial debut follows Sheriff Ray Owens (Schwarzenegger) out of LAPD narcotics into the outskirts of Sommerton Junction, where the narcotic cop finds himself chasing down wanted drug dealer Gabriel Cortez (Eduardo Noriega) after an escape from FBI prison. Thus, hostage situations, races to the border, and badass sidekicks emerge.

The film also stars Forest Whitaker, Rodrigo Santoro, Johnny Knoxville, and Jaimie Alexander.

The Last Stand hits theaters Jan. 18, 2013.
