Bright Math Student Turns Boring Class Notes Into Mesmerizing Doodles

Education is about money and prestige and not about becoming a better human able to do great things. You yourself haven’t done anything really great yet but you figure the path to your future greatness lies more in inventing awesome new connect-the-dots arrangements than in graphing parabolas or shooting birds at things.

YouTuber ViHart, “a professional mathemusician at KhanAcademy,” was extremely frustrated in her math class, not because she didn’t understand the material, but rather because she didn’t understand why she had to be learning to graph parabolas when there are so many more magnificent feats that can be accomplished through learning mathematics.

In zoning out and doodling, Hart’s mind and notebook come to life with mesmerizing and mathematically complex drawings, narrated by her own philosophical contemplation on the education system as a whole.
