Google Maps Lets You Explore the Ocean Floor

Now Google lets us stalk fish, too.

According to this  YouTube video, the exploratory service “strives to provide people around the globe with the most comprehensive, accurate and usable map of the world.” And, since 75% of the earth’s surface is covered in water, why shouldn’t the submarine world be included in this project was well?

By partnering with The Caitlin Seaview Survey, Google Maps is now able to provide high quality image collections of six of the world’s most incredible underwater spots, including coral reefs in Australia, the Philippines and Hawaii.

Millions of people can have visual access to underwater life through the Street View feature of Google Maps. In fact, go check out the Street View Gallery right now to see what your fishy friends are up to right now — courtesy of Google.
