It’s common knowledge that sites like TumblrReddit, and 9gag, — not to mention quickmeme, memegenerator, and knowyourmeme — are meme breeding grounds, but leave it to a YouTuber to trace back to the origins of some of the Internet’s favorite and most ubiquitous memes — the overwhelming majority of which take root in classic TV shows and movies.

YouTuber ‘s ”Mess of Memes” video compiles familiar clips from Arrested Development, Futurama, Spongebob Squarepants, South Park, and more to form a rough archive of amazing pop culture moments, which still prove to be funny in their original forms even after we’ve become so used to seeing them as gifs.
