Late night host Jimmy Kimmel helmed the 64th annual Primetime Emmy Awards last night at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.

Award show hosts often perform under a great deal of pressure to keep things running smoothly on live television and to basically just not drag the show down with awkward humor.

Jimmy was a trooper, though. He rolled with the punches right from the start. We’re talking, of course, about punches in the face from some of TV’s finest actresses, including Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Zooey Deschanel, Christina Hendricks, Kathy Bates, and Lena Dunham.

As the evening progressed, Kimmel found more ways to charm his live and at-home audiences by using social media to prank everyone who wasn’t watching the Emmys into thinking that 30 Rock wildcard Tracy Morgan had indeed passed out on stage.
