Facebook Is Just Like Toilets: A Commercial Parody

Last week, Facebook launched its very first ad, entitled, “The Things That Connect Us,” to celebrate and thank its 1 billion users.

Unfortunately, what was supposed to resonate as profound came off as just silly and baffling as the ad compared the social media giant to inanimate objects that we all use, such as chairs, doorbells, and airplanes.

Filmmaker Andrew Zenn jumped at the chance to parody the Wieden + Kennedy commercial, instead comparing Facebook to toilets, magazines, and toilet paper. You know, those other things that connect us.
