Facebook Grants Grieving Father’s Wish

  • John Berlin’s son, Jesse, died in January of 2012. So when John saw the 62-second Facebook “look back” videos everyone was sharing this week, all he and his family wanted was to the version the site would generate from Jesse’s timeline. Unfortunately, no one still had access to the account. So John posted a video to YouTube in the hopes that someone from Facebook might see it and respond.

  • And within hours, that’s exactly what happened. After Reddit and a local CBS affiliate picked up on the video, word got around to Facebook, and a rep has assured John that he will be able to see the video by tonight or tomorrow morning. John posted in the comments on his video thanking viewers for the support and implored them to “hug your children [and] kiss them. Tell them you love them every single day.”
