Pride and Prejudice web series “The Lizzie Bennet Diaries” has been over for years, but if you can’t quite get over the all the feels just yet (I sure can’t), then you’ll be glad to know we’re getting one more chapter with The Epic Adventures of Lydia Bennet, a new tie-in novel from Simon and Schuster.

The web series took Lydia Bennet’s character in quite a different direction from the shallow, careless girl in Jane Austen’s novel. Many fans grew to care deeply for her and were frustrated that her story was left hanging. As the book description points out, “In the web series The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, everyone gets a happy ever after… everyone, that is, except for Lydia, the youngest Bennet sister. Her story was left unfinished.”

This new book was co-authored by romance novelist Kate Rorick, who was a writer for “The Lizzie Bennet Diaries” and the primary author of the first tie-in book The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet. She was joined by Rachel Kiley, who wrote and produced the spinoff YouTube series “The Lydia Bennet!!

The story picks up where LBD left off, with Lydia back in school and still dealing with the fallout of her sister’s online videos and her disastrous relationship with the manipulative George Wickham. She has to regain the trust of her family and deal with the darker side of internet fame as she puts her life back together. The book will take her story in some surprising directions and introduce a bunch of new characters that go beyond the Pride and Prejudice storyline.

The book hits shelves next week and is available for preorder. In the meantime, a preview of the first nine chapters has been posted to WattPad.

Actor Mary Kate Wiles has also recorded the audiobook version, which will be available on Audible.
