  • Screen Junkies is the YouTube channel/multimedia empire that brings the internet all its favorite movie stuff. This includes shows like Movie Fights and Honest Trailers. They recently did their Honest Trailer for Ghostbusters. Not the original from the 1980s. The one causing the massive uproar.

Honest Trailers treads carefully as they critique the all-female reboot. They understand the backlash and the backlash against the backlash. However, according to Honest Trailers, the movie still isn’t good. But what movie this summer was good? If there was a blockbuster that wasn’t Civil War, it was likely critically panned.

The film does take a feminist stance. Says Honest Trailers, “girls can make middle of the road, studio-mandated, franchise bait just as well as the boys”. And in the end, isn’t that all we really wanted? No? Ok.

The actual hate, says the YouTube creators, should not go to Ghostbusters. It itself is a “fine but forgettable film”. Instead, the hatred should go towards the Fall Out Boy cover of the theme song. That is actually a horrible creation.

What do you think? Was Ghostbusters that bad after all, after seeing its competition? Let us know in the comments or @WhatsTrending on Twitter.
