  • After grueling days of teasing deleting his beloved YouTube channel when he hits 50 million followers, PewDiePie made good on his threat — sort of.

  • In a stunning turn of events, rather than delete his multi million dollar bread and butter, haven of goofballism that is his YouTube channel, he instead deleted the channel formerly known as JackSepticEyeTwo. For those who don’t have an encyclopedic knowledge of PewDiePie pranks— JackSepticEyeTwo was a channel PewDiePie created to just get one million followers without uploading any content, thus earning him YouTube’s Golden Play button (he discusses it around the 2:50 mark).

  • And earn that play button he did, giving it to none other than the original— JackSepticEye! Without whom JackSepticEye2 would maybe have a different name.

  • PewDiePie himself celebrated hitting 50 million subscribers with a cinematic fireworks and dabbing showcase on his Twitter feed.

  • While most are relieved that PewDiePie’s channel will continue goofing into the year 2017, I on the other hand will miss the purity of JackSepticEye2. By uploading nothing and winning everything, that channel has achieved a zen that most human beings spend their life striving for. In the meanwhile, PewDiePie got us big and PewDiePie got us good. Good work… PewDiePie!
