By now you’ve probably seen the cat that looks just like “Star Wars” actor Adam Driver, but you can’t really look at something like this too much.
That cat is the most internet thing ever - but more importantly, he’s now been adopted by the very woman who wrote the news story about him.
The 2-year-old Oriental Shorthair was living at an SPCA in New Jersey when he was noticed by a staff member at Elite Daily, who tweeted a picture that quickly went viral.
A friend and co-worker, Emily McCombs, covered the story for Elite Daily - and immediately fell in love with the cat.
"When the tweet first went up, I had gazed into the eyes of this cat and felt two things deep in my soul 1) that I loved him and 2) that he was meant to be with me. Not only was his face amazingly unique and funny, but he was described as being snuggly and “great with kids,” and I have a four-year-old son."
Adopting the cat (once called Corey, now renamed Kylo) turned out to be an adventure - he was nearly adopted out from under her twice, and she had to beg a friend to drive her to New Jersey from Brooklyn because she didn’t have a car. But in the end, Kylo got the loving home he deserved.
Emily has since been approached by "internet cat managers" offering to help her make money off him in the style of Grumpy Cat and Lil Bub, but she promises that she’s in it for love, not fame. Probably only a matter of time before we see him on Instagram dressed in a little Sith Lord costume, though.
