Bill Murray has become a walking urban legend. The most prevalent rumor surround his eccentricity is that he will run up to strangers on the street, do something outrageous, and then whisper “No one will ever believe you!” before running away. (You know it’s gotten real when there’s an entire web site devoted to weird stories about Murray.)
The story is told multiple ways. Either it happened to a friend of a friend this one time, or it happens constantly on the streets of Brooklyn.
This week, Murray lived up to his legend with the release of a video of him crashing a bachelor party and giving the young men advice about marriage and love.

Murray obliged a group of Boston college bros who asked him to speak at their friend EJ’s bachelor party.
Murray said, “Buy a plane ticket for the two of you to go all around the world and go to places that are hard to go to and hard to get out of and when the two of you come back to JFK, when you land in JFK and you’re still in love with that person? Get married.”

Murray apparently showed up at the door of a room at Karaoke One in New York City and sang with a bunch of strangers. He also bought them weird green drinks. Murray says: When in doubt on what to do, just join someone else’s party, clearly.

Along with the Wu Tang Clan, Murray surprise-bartended at a bar called Shangri-La during SXSW 2010, and only poured people tequila — no matter what they ordered.

Bill Murray fan David Walton Smith asked Murray to walk down a hallway with him in slow motion to mirror the many Wes Anderson trailers he’s starred in. Murray obliged and Smith got his very own personalized Anderson trailer starring a legendary Anderson fave. This might be one of the coolest things Murray has done.

Murray told GQ on rumors that he shows up randomly and tells people, “No one will ever believe you,”
There’s probably a really appropriate thing to say. Something exactly and just perfectly right. [long beat, and then he breaks into a huge grin] But by God, it sounds crazy, doesn’t it? Just so crazy and unlikely and unusual?

True or not, it seems it is confirmed that Murray loves giving advice to young people. Who are we not to listen when the Dalai Lama himself decides to dole out words of wisdom?
