What started out as an online petition has turned into a nationally recognized story.
Draven Rodriguez, a senior at Schenectady High School in upstate New York,
wanted his cat, Mr. Bigglesworth, included in his yearbook senior portrait, according to the Times Union.
This plan has been in the works for a year and has since become a trending topic on social media. Kesha even tweeted it and Tumblr asked to sponsor his personal page. Pretty sweet, right?
Well, his principal, Diane Wilkinson, wanted in on the action. She hopped in his photo with her dog, Vivienne.
"I generally have a boring head shot and, like Draven, I loved his original photo," she told the Times Union.
She plans on including a message next to the photo advocating for animal rescue and adoption.
"I'm not trying to make any statement," Rodriguez told The Daily Gazette, "other than my photo is ridiculous and this is how I am."
