Marcel The Shell With Shoes On is the creation of comedian Jenny Slate and husband Dean Fleischer-Camp. He’s a one-eyed snail-shell with shoes, and he explores the world around him with a sort of quiet, patient whimsy. Something about him is just likable.
In this newest video, for example, he says his favorite saying is “Life’s a party, rock your body.” Then he sneezes and says “Sorry, I have allergies to plants.” He’s a shell and lives almost entirely among plants, by the way.
This is Slate and Fleischer-Camp’s first Marcel video since 2011, and it promotes their new book, The Most Surprised I’ve Ever Been.
