Hollaback!’s 10 Hours of Walking in NYC as a Woman incited a powerful discussion earlier this week about street harassment and male-dominated culture that women walk through every day of their lives, not just for 10 hours.
Funny or Die has responded with their own “experiment,” 10 Hours of Walking in NYC as a Man, a privileged white man, that is. While the man doesn’t receive the same level of harassment as Shoshana Roberts did in the Hollaback! video, he does receive high fives, free burritos, and catches a football thrown at him every few minutes or so.
That’s right — over 100 instances of verbal privilege within 10 hours. Everything’s coming up White Guy!
