Goalie David Leggio knocks off net against a Two on Zero

David Leggio, goalie for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, really doesn’t want to give up a goal on this two-on-zero breakaway. To avoid an outnumbered goal, he knocks the net off its moorings, requiring a stoppage in play. Well….at least all the kids in the audience had a fun time seeing themselves on camera while the refs tried to figure out whether or not to call a penalty.

UPDATE: In response to this action, the AHL has changed the rule, requiring goaltenders to take a game misconduct penalty if they intentionally knock the net off its moorings in this situation.
