Stephen Colbert Has an Announcement to Make in Donald Trump Spoof

Donald Trump’s announcement that he is running for president was a bizarre scene. The “candidate” (he’s not really running, you guys) entered his press conference on an escalator, proceeded to ramble about America, government, China, and how rich he was, then left. It was weird. But could we make it weirder? Stephen Colbert is here to try to one-up Trump in this excellent announcement spoof.

Instead of an escalator, Colbert is rolled in on a trash can. The incoming Late Show host promises to devote himself completely to this campaign, at least until the Fall when Celebrity Apprentice starts up again. As Colbert says in his speech, “Donald Trump’s campaign for president of the United States isn’t just great for America, it’s great for late night television.”
