  • A squirrel stole the show at the Cardinals vs Phillies baseball game at Citizens Bank Park on Friday night when it scaled the net behind home plate and took a flying leap straight into the Phillies’ dugout.

St. Louis third baseman Matt Carpenter was up to bat against Philadelphia pitcher Phillipe Aumont in the top of the second inning when most of the crowd and the sportscasters got distracted by a squirrel climbing up the net and running along the top wire.

Then the squirrel either fell or purposely jumped dozens of feet onto the roof of the Phillies dugout, and then INTO the dugout and onto some of the players, who scattered like … rabbits, I guess, just to mix up our rodents a little.

The squirrel escaped behind the dugout wall and seemed to be fine. Oh, and the Cardinals won the game 12-4, if you’re into that kind of thing.
