  • We all sort of shook our heads when we heard the news about Hollywood making a movie about emojis. It's like a joke asbout the lack of creativity in the movie industry came to life and no one could stop it. But it's not just that Emoji: The Movie is going to be made. It's that movie studios were desperate to make it. Three different studios got in a bidding war for the right to make a movie about smiley faces. The pitch was bought for over a million dollars. As Jimmy Kimmel explains, "Someone went into a meeting with a bunch of studio executives and said, 'You know those little pictures people text each other? Let's make a movie about them,' and walked out with a million dollars. It's a fun town."

But maybe we're just being haters. Maybe the script for Emoji: The Movie is incredible. On Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kimmel and the lovely Brie Larson tried to find out. This dramatic reading of the Emoji script will have you on the edge of your seat. We don't want to spoil anything, but the phrase "Butcher knife, butcher knife, pig" makes an appearance. Scary! Maybe we're thinking about Emoji: The Movie all wrong?

    Probably not.
