  • So we were kind of excited about the first trailer for the lady-centric “Ghostbusters” movie starring Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kristen Wiig – but it seems a lot of people weren’t into it.

How much of that stems from dudes who are just mad that they gender-swapped the cast is difficult to say, but even Kevin Smith said the trailer was weak and whoever edited it should be sat down and scolded. “It could’ve been all men with the same jokes, and it still would have sucked,” he said – though he thought the cast members were all great comedians and movie itself could still be good.

And now we have this reaction video (don’t tell the Fine Bros, lol) from none other than the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. The giant marshmallow monster seems excited at first, particularly when Kristen Wiig’s character gets slimed, but after a few flat jokes and the overly-stereotypical introduction of Leslie Jones’ character, he quickly gets annoyed and then angry, until finally – well, let’s just say things get messy.

Creator Darren Wallace clarified, “This is not necessarily a reflection of my opinion of the trailer but rather a satirical skit about the negative reaction it has received.” Seems pretty on point to me.
