  • Saturday Night Live is usually on in the fall, which can only mean one thing: Halloween sketches, baby! We’re in the Halloween spirit here at What’s Trending, having covered Gordon Ramsay’s reviews of Halloween candy, the girl who got her head stuck in a pumpkin, and the spoooookiest ghost of all: the ghost of Vine.

Still, nothing gets us more excited for the Halloween season than good old fashioned nostalgia. Join us as we reminisce over a simpler time, when we were kids, dressing up in cute costumes, devouring fistfuls of candy, and hunkering down in front of the TV to get some yuks in after our bedtimes.

Okay, so most of these sketches are just a couple years old. But still, it’s pretty cool of SNL to put together a supercut of some of their most memorable Halloween sketches. Here’s their video celebrating Halloween:

  • A few of the highlights for older viewers (or just those more familiar with the show’s long history) include Chris Farley’s Matt Foley character, Adam Sandler’s Weekend Update antics, and Richard Pryor’s Exorcist parody. For people newer to the show, there’s memorable recent bits like Bride of Blackenstein, Kristen Wiig’s Ring parody, and Bobby Moynihan’s Drunk Uncle.

The biggest star of the video, though, has to be Bill Hader. There’s his Vincent Price impression, his Stefon character, and arguably the best line of the video as he reacts to Nicki Minaj’s Bride of Blackenstein. The guy has serious range — not to mention the perfect fake creepiness a good Halloween sketch needs.

Unfortunately, this video doesn’t include the most recent SNL Halloween classic: last week’s “Haunted Elevator” starring Tom Hanks as David S. Pumpkins. If you haven’t seen it yet, you’re missing out SO hard. Here’s that sketch:
