  • ”Oh, Hello”.

Such was the rallying cry of Kroll Show fans as Nick Kroll and John Mulaney took the stage at the Independent Spirit Awards and gave us an amazing monologue. The Independent Spirit Awards celebrate the weird and the off kilter, and Kroll and Mulaney gave us that.

They sent the male gaze onto Warren Beatty, talked about how the industry can feel like giving a hand job on the beach and discussed John Mulaney’s self recorded audition for Sully. Also, these movies, said host Nick Kroll, he had to watch A Dog’s Purpose… to cheer up! And how Robert Durst is somehow more likable than Donald Trump. They then end the monologue with the most inspiring quotes they could find— Vincent Gallo’s discussion of creeps and Terrence Malick’s discussion of a fine acrylic paint. Good job, everyone.

What did you think of the monologue? Let us know in the comments. Maybe Twitter too. We’re @WhatsTrending. Have fun!
