All About Tonsil Stones with “Gross Science”

Anna Rosthchild and the good people of PBS’ “Gross Science” are back to disgust and horrify us with things that might be growing in our tonsils.

Apparently – and this is completely new, disturbing news to me – if you’ve had tonsilitis a lot or if you just have big tonsils, sometimes dead cells, mucus and food can lodge in the nooks and crannies and then calcify, creating white lumpy stones that can cause earaches and really bad breath.

Just another reason why science is gross and you shouldn’t learn about it at lunchtime.
