A good sandwich is serious business, so we applaud Andy George for finding out just how much money and effort goes into one. And we don’t mean running to the grocery store for lunch meat and putting it between bread from the fridge - he goes through every step.
The process involves making a garden and growing wheat and vegetables, flying to the ocean to collect water to boil down for salt, making his own pickles, milking a cow to make cheese and butter, collecting honey and grinding flour to bake his own bread, killing and skinning a couple of chickens, and picking greens and tomatoes. The whole thing took him six months and cost $1500.
The result? “It’s not bad," he says after the first bite. "That’s about it. Six months of my life for ‘not bad.’”
