Watch This Entire Swiss Mountainside Collapse

Here’s a fun thing to watch right after you return from a vacation in the mountains – an entire mountainside breaking off and tearing through the forest below.

This happened a few days ago at the Rocher du Mel de la Niva mountain, in the Swiss Alps. You can hear the cameraman going “Oh poutain, oh poutain” as the 2000 cubic meter hunk of rock collapses – you can probably guess what that’s French for.

Fortunately a geologist had predicted the event well beforehand, so a nearby valley road was closed and a town was evacuated.
