It’s so weird — after all the dystopian future ideas of Phillip K. Dick, Kurt Vonnegut, even the frickin’ Jetsons, we’re still demanding to be barrel onwards into one of those weird out of touch futures where we eat our food in pill form and our best friend is a robot named Sprocket (actually, that last part isn’t so bad). In any case — inventor Jim Rekimoto of Sony unveiled something that seems directly plucked from our out of touch future nightmares. We’re talking Human Uber.
So — let’s say you can’t go somewhere. How would you deal with all that massive FOMO? Well, just use Human Uber, my dudes! The futuristic technology where you attach a monitor to a human being’s face as they roam around experiencing things on your behalf.
I guess you can send this guy to meetings, to have lunch with certain people, attend conferences, but all of this also seems like we’re just mistreating people more in the name of making a buck? Like, humans are not meat carts meant to drive an image of you from meeting to meeting so you can save a couple of pennies.
Any reason to use this instead of Skype feels like a power play.
Anywho. What do you think of Human Uber? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter at @WhatsTrending.
