Remembering Philip Seymour Hoffman Through His 2006 Oscars Acceptance Speech

  • The film industry lost an incredibly talented man this Sunday when highly revered actor, Philip Seymour Hoffman, was found dead in his apartment due to an apparent drug overdose. He was 46 years old.

Having taken eccentric roles all over the map, Hoffman was nominated for an Academy Award three times: for his work in "Doubt," "Charlie Wilson's War," and "The Master." In 2006, he won the award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Truman Capote in "Capote."

More recently, Hoffman wowed Broadway audiences for his take on the role of Willy Loman in Arthur Miller's "Death of a Salesman."

Cinema won't be the same without you.
