Can These Nerds Make Good In “Silicon Valley?”

  • The creator of “Beavis and Butthead” and Office Space is back with a new HBO comedy, “Silicon Valley,” about a group of nerds who try to make their own web company. The network released the first trailer for season one of the Mike Judge-helmed show and it looks hilarious.

“Silicon Valley” stars Thomas Middleditch, TJ Miller, Kumail Nanjiani, Zach Woods, and Martin Starr.

In real life, each of these guys has serious nerd cred: Nanjiani hosts a podcast about video games, Starr was Bill Haverchuck on NBC’s cult hit “Freaks and Geeks,” Middleditch is an improv nerd who’s appeared in College Humor videos, Woods played the weirdo Gabe on “The Office,” and Miller is known for his wacky, off-beat characters. It’s the perfect cast for the perfect premise.

  • Judging by the trailer, “Silicon Valley” isn’t playing around. The first joke is about how Steve Jobs was a poser who “didn’t even write code.” SHOTS. FIRED.
