A Dark and Haunting Werner Herzog Documentary on the Dangers of Texting and Driving

  • Imagine for a moment a walk down your neighborhood street with your little brother holding your hand. And then, with maybe only a faint blur in your peripheral vision, his hand is no longer in yours. Perhaps a few more seconds will pass before you begin to process that he's been torn down by a speeding driver, one who didn't even begin to pull on the brakes until after the impact had occurred. It may be several minutes or even hours later when you learn that the driver had been texting while driving, a distraction that caused her to not even see the stop sigh she ran. And it probably won't come out until during the trial the exact words she was texting as she barreled toward a little boy whose life was about to be inextricably altered: "I'll be there soon."
