“Glee” star Lea Michele showed up to the 2013 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday to accept her award for Choice TV Actress: Comedy, and say a few words to her fans and peers about the loss of her boyfriend and co-star Cory Monteith, who died on July 13.
In a teary tribute, she said, “I wanted to dedicate this award to Cory. For all of you out there who loved and admired Cory as much as I did, I promise that with your love we’re going to get through this together. He was very special to me and also to the world. We were very lucky to witness his incredible talent, his handsome smile and his beautiful, beautiful heart.”
Her speech came just after her co-stars accepted the award for Choice TV Show: Comedy. Jenna Ushowitz said, “On behalf of our brother and our castmate, we know that Cory would’ve wanted to dedicate this award to you guys. So, our condolences to all of you as well, and we love you so much. Thank you guys.”
