  • On a whim, Fred Stobaugh entered a singer-songwriter contest at his native Illinois’ Green Shoe Studio, submitting a heartwarming song that he wrote for his late wife, who passed away last April.

While his song, “Oh Sweet Lorraine,” didn’t meet the criteria of the contest, the studio offered Fred something better than a winning title. They professionally recorded the song for free, making this 96-year-old songwriting newbie an official recording artist.
