It looks like Willow Smith doesn’t have much hair to whip back and forth anymore.
The 11-year-old daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith is slowing the tempo down as she continues her early foray into the music industry with a new song, “I Am Me.” On July 1, she uploaded the official video, directed by Mike Vargas, on her YouTube channel.
It has yet to be confirmed whether the song will be included on Smith’s debut studio album, “Knees and Elbows,” but it marks the fourth single to come from the young singer, among “Whip My Hair,” “21st Century Girl,” and “Fireball” featuring Nicki Minaj.
According to Topsy.com, “Willow Smith” has been mentioned over 35,000 times online since the video went live, and the reactions are certainly mixed.
Why’s every1 hating on Willow Smith’s new song. I think it’s pretty inspirational whether she’s 11 years old or not…

Willow Smith’s new song is about giving advice? She’s 11, she should stick to whipping her hair back and forth — Benri David Thoreau(@Tribe_Lion) July 3, 2012

I liked the message behind that Willow Smith song tho. She’s a kid and is scrutinized harshly for no reason.
