  • We’ve all seen what it looks like when Aly Raisman’s parents get fired up, but maybe it’s not so fun if you’re struggling to watch the routine through their flailing arms.

In the highlights video at NBC’s Olympics site, one angry spectator who got stuck sitting behind the nervous couple can be seen asking Raisman’s dad, Rick, to sit down and even plopping his head in his hands out of frustration.

Later in the NBC broadcast, which aired Tuesday night in primetime, Rick Raisman was filmed getting up from his seat and standing over the railing of one of the stadium aisles. The cameras followed him there as he continued to cheer his daughter on when her gold medal score was announced.

Perhaps he refused to sit down upon Mr. Grumpy’s request and decided to take his brimming nerves elsewhere.

His excitement would surely be understood, as Aly went on to win her second Olympic gold medal last night after killing it on her “Hava Nagila”-scored floor routine, becoming the most decorated female US gymnast at the 2012 London Games (with a gold for the team exercises and a bronze for the beam).

And here’s one of Raisman’s parents right before Aly’s floor routine — just for kicks.
