It was announced earlier today that Ecuador would stand up to the U.K. by granting diplomatic asylum to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
For the past two months, Assange has been seeking refuge in London's Ecaudorean Embassy in attempts to evade being shipped off to Sweden and field accusations that he sexually assaulted two women. Ecuador's decision is also a snub to the United States, following reports that Assange could receive the death penalty if tried on American soil.
The above video, uploaded two summers ago by AlJazeeraEnglish, shows Assange talking to TED's Chris Anderson about his WikiLeaks creation and his motivation in pursuing such controversial (and illegal?) activities.
