It's a classic tale of love, weather, and woe, uploaded by FunnyLocalNews YouTube channel. Anchorman meets weather woman; anchorman pursues weather woman -- but, to no avail.
CTV News' Andrew Johnson was so tickled by the word "canoodling" in his lead-in broadcast segment that he decided to use it in the next transition, without actually knowing what it meant. The result was an accidental, romantic advance towards his on-air colleague, Astrid Braunschmidt.
Turns out Braunschmidt did know what canoodling meant, and was not so keen on engaging in such an activity with Johnson.
Tip: avoid using a word if you do not know what it means -- especially on live television.
