  • New York Times tech columnist David Pogue uploaded the above video to his poguenyt YouTube channel, accompanied by the caption:

On August 15, 2012, I proposed to the love of my life. I made a fake movie trailer — a thinly veiled version of our love story. I persuaded the movie theater at a summer resort to play it before a movie we went to see. Both of our families were there to see it.

Pogue placed a camera in the ficus plant next to the movie screen in order to capture girlfriend Nicki Dugan’s reaction. Once the trailer finished playing its part, Pogue took his cue to pop up on the stage and execute the big moment “in person.”

If you can handle the sweetness, watch it all unfold above.
