Indie band Father Tiger puts a synthpop twist on this festive season with their new song, “On Christmas Day,” which focuses on one of the more depressing aspects of the holiday, with the boys crooning, “there’s nothing like the loneliness you can feel on Christmas Day.”
The accompanying music video delivers a deliciously hipster-esque view of the man who is surprisingly the loneliest during this time of year: Santa Claus. With the burden of having to navigate his “Naughty/Nice” spreadsheet and desert a perfectly joyous house party in order to fulfill his Kringle responsibilities, life can get pretty tough for he who is supposed to be the jolliest.
Cheer up, good man. Christmas comes but once a year.
