Matthew McConaughey, a University of Texas alumni himself, stopped by the football field to give the Longhorns a pep talk.
As he stood there with his son, in front of the team of bright football players, he told them to look in the mirror and ask themselves one question: Why do I play this game? Why am I out here busting my ass in the middle of the heat every day?
"When I did my best work as an actor, it was when I pushed myself to be better than I ever thought I could be," McConaughey preached to the team. "Some of you are playing for your coaches, your grandma, your dad, your brother, the university. But at the end of the day, you're really only playing for one person and it's a lot more fun because when you win, you can look in the mirror and say yea, I did that. I earned that!"
He ended on the perfect note, with a team "Wolf of Wallstreet" heart thumping chant.
