How to Get a Leopard Out of a Well

File this under “news you hopefully won’t ever have to use.” If you ever find yourself in the unusual situation of having a leopard sitting at the bottom of your village well, this is what you do: put a ladder in the well, give the leopard some encouragement, and stay the hell out of its way!

The Indian village of Mudrady, in the southern state of Karnataka was the scene of this unlikely rescue operation. Officials with the Forest Department believe the leopard, only two or three years old, likely jumped into the well by accident during the night. That’s a pretty freaky scene to wake up to in the morning, but the villagers in this video are able to work together to get the soggy cat out of their well. We guess all’s well that ends (out of a) well.
