Kim Kardashian is the Latest Celebrity To Throw a Tone-Deaf Party

Kim Kardashian is just one of the many celebrities this year who have decided that the pandemic just does not exist. While you were wearing a CDC recommended mask, avoided seeing friends and family, and worked from home, the Kardashian-Jenner clan decided to throw a huge party on a private island to celebrate Kim’s 40th birthday. We are not exactly sure how many people were in attendance from the pictures, but Kim did mention the photo telling concerned fans that there were “health screens” beforehand. Kim posted these photos of the bash on her Instagram and Twitter captioning the photos, “Before COVID, I don’t think any of us truly appreciated what a simple luxury it was to be able to travel and be together with family and friends in a safe environment. After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time.”

Twitter is Mad

Fans are calling this b-day bash ‘tone deaf,’ as over 227,000 people have died in the United States so far from coronavirus. Do not get us wrong, we understand there were health screenings, but it only encourages others to throw all caution to the wind and throw reckless parties like Bryce Hall’s LA rager, or Cardi B’s Las Vegas blowout. This is how Twitter is expressing their anger:

Even Peter Frampton was frustrated by the Kardashian’s choices:

Memes Followed

Like Twitter does best when trying to cope with tone-deaf celebrities, they made memes… and they were hilarious.

I think we all feel like they iconic Kourtney Kardashian scene right now.

There is even a whole Twitter community that is ready to host a French Revolution: Round 2

Colin Hanks even threw in some ‘Marie Antoinette’ commentary on the post.

It is not only about the health screening, that is some what questionable, but the fact that people are going through EXTREMELY difficult times. Between cut hours, losing jobs, and less business, millions of people are struggling to survive during this pandemic. To show off an elaborate, and expensive birthday party, with dozens of your closest friends on a private island, is salt in the wound coronavirus has left. While Kim Kardashian and her family can pretend things are normal for a while, that is a reality the majority of us cannot afford to have.

‘Humble’ and ‘Private Island’

In Kardashian’s caption, she mentions how humbled she is to be able to throw such an extravagant bash in the midst of the pandemic, ” I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now, so in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is,” but fans are struggling to read ‘humble’ and ‘private island’ in the same post. Humble + private island = just doesn’t add up.

Previous Celebrities

This is not the first story I have written about a celebrity throwing a reckless party in the middle of a pandemic, and it will most likely not be the last. For some reason, celebrities are just not learning from backlash they are receiving after their tone-deaf actions. It is disheartening, but nonetheless, important to hold figure heads accountable for the influence they have. The last celebrity to host an extravaganza was Cardi B, who threw a huge birthday party in Las Vegas hosted by Playboy. And before her, the TikTok stars, Bryce Hall and Blake Gray hosted a Los Angeles house party that ended in the police shutting it down and being charged with misdemeanors. Maybe they only invited a hundred people, but those hundred could infect thousands. Some celebrities do not want to be role models, but regardless, they influence are communities, and throwing these events only encourages others to do the same.

Be careful. Do not be like Kim or Bryce. Wear your mask, socially distance, and wash your hands. We are in this together.
