I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm a complete sucker for trailer remixes. Genre-bending with pointed recuts and music changes and some occasional slow fades to black just go to show that good stories are universal, and have a little bit of every so-specifically-defined genres in them.
Comedy classic Dumb & Dumber is the latest to get this recut trailer treatment, turning the slapstick tale into what the uploader refers to as "an Oscar-worthy drama" about a somewhat slow man who just wants to figure out his purpose in life, and possible also follow a girl he's into to Aspen, like one does. It's a predictably moving indie drama-type trailer that would undoubtedly do well at Sundance if the rest of the film stayed in line with what the trailer presented. Of course, we wound up with Dumb & Dumber the fantastic comedy instead, and there was certainly no loss for society there.
