The official trailer for Oliver Stone’s opus based on the story of Edward Snowden has been released, and all people can focus on is how strange actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt sounds!
JGL, true to his professionalism, appears to have chosen to mimic Snowden’s voice since the two are very different in appearance. However, as pointed out by a fellow co-worker, when you’re dealing with someone who already sounds like an SNL mimcry of himself, it’s hard to sound believable.
Props to Levitt for trying, it’s definitely a catch-22, and on the other hand, the slinky, sexy trailer is getting audiences pumped to what would normally be considered a run-of-the-mill spy movie (even though it’s based on real life events).
