The Ring was a well-received, still-loved horror film that spawned a sequel that, well, didn’t have anywhere near the drop in quality that most sequels have. Now, 14 years after the original (and by “original” I mean American remake of a Japanese film), a third film is finally here.
Rings continues the story of Samara, a little murderous girl who died in a well and “lives on” through a video tape and a phone call that sentences people to death in seven days. The trailer is pretty creepy, featuring a constantly tormented girl who will die in seven days after listening to her boyfriend’s obsession with the story of Samara. The IMDb summary of the film also promises a deeper look into the urban legend, teasing a “movie within the movie” that no one has seen before.
