  • It has been 4 years since Interpol released their last album, which premiered at No. 7 on the Billboard Top 200. El Pintor, which is both Spanish for “the painter” and an anagram for Interpol, is set to release on Sept. 9th of this year.

The album will feature The Secret Machines’ Brandon Curtis, Roger Joseph Manning, Jr of Beck and Rob Moose of Bon Iver. Paul Banks, the frontman of the trio, will also be taking over bass for the first time in the band’s history.

Interpol gave audiences a taste of the new album at the NME Awards tour in the U.K. in March, playing the tracks “Anywhere,” “My Desire” and “All the Rage Back Home,” giving fans a taste of El Pintor.

Interpol is currently on tour and will be performing at Governors Ball this weekend, with stops at Lollapalooza, FYF Fest, ACL Festival and Glastonbury later this year.
